I would love to see an England   V   Spain Final..............but after last nights usual debacle, we'll be lucky to get thru' the group stages.

If we're not missing penalties at one end, then we're commiting howlers at the other !!

And to think WE gave the world football.   Grin

Weve got no chance of winning the world cup ,
i dont know Jack about football , but i thought that
the idea is to score more goals than the opposition !.

The definition of the word STRIKER is , Bloke who runs up the other end of the pitch & scores goals.

So how come they keep picking Emile Hesky who couldnt hit a Barn Door with a Banjo ?
Ive seen better players on that pitch in Los G ! , theyre all over paid primadonas.
You look at the poorer nations their players always try harder

Its the same every World Cup , they talk a good game then when they get there they show us all up
I would rather watch Eastenders !!!

I love to hear or read comments about football by people who obviously no absolutely nothing about the game.
Yes we ( England) played crap, as most of the teams in the first 6 games did, but we will win the group.
No doubt you blame Green for the fact we didnt win, again shows lack of knowledge of the game!
Support they need or stick to Eastenders!

As i said in my post " i know nothing about football " , it just worries me that if we cant beat a low ranked team ,what happens when we meet the Big Boys ? . Time will tell i suppose , Eastenders is quite good at the moment ! Grin
As for Green ,we were One - Nil up & he let a soft goal in & we wernt One - nil up ,FACT !

What I want to know is, what was the combined value of all the England players on that pitch? 500 m? A billion?

England need to change the formation to 4-5-1, play Gerrard just off Rooney, leaving Lampard to play his normal game.

Rooney likes to play alone up front, Gerrard likes & plays best just off a lone striker.

Barry in as holding mid-field, Milner in central midfield ( with Lampard ) & Lennon, alternating down the left & right flanks with his elecric pace.

Give Green another go, otherwise his England career is probably over, tho' Hart for me should have started, been in great form ALL season & if a young keeper is good enough for the Germans ( look how they played last night ) then Hart although young, is good enough & old enough for England.

We need to move away from 4-4-2, it makes us far to predictable & the top sides can read us to easily, players such as Messi & Fabregas will rip our mid-field to shreds if we don't match up 5 against 5 when playing the really good sides.

Play 5 in mid-field in order to play possession football & in order to stop the opposition playing thru' us.
Only revert to 2 up front if we are struggling in any given game, then we can hump the ball into the box as often as possible & hope for a lucky break or knock-down from such as Heskey & Crouch.

Looking forward to watching Spain, now there is a side that know how to play football as it should be played. Smiley

Sadly David, I'm one of the thousands of typical footie fans who stands on the terraces on a week-end & thinks they could do the managers job !!  Wink

Unfortunately, like all the rest of the fans, I just think I can, That's probably why Cappellos' on around £3 million a year as manager of England & I'm not !!   Grin Grin Grin

So, yet again England fail miserably against supposed lesser opponents.

Once again the 4-4-2 formation looked predictable and dated, we offered NO threat whatsoever going forward & were completely over-run thru' the mid-field.

Our passing was awful, none of our highly paid players looked comfortable on the ball and in fact were given a bit of a lesson in possession football.

Heskey once again was poor, Gerrard completly lost and wasted out on the left, Lampard....well did he actually play last night ?
Johnson needs some passing practice & Ashley Cole never got the chance to get forward cos the Algerians kept him on the back foot all game long.
As for Rooney, well, he would do better keeping his dummy in & having a pop at goal rather then having a pop at the England fans' loyalty !!

So onto our last game.......surely now even Cappello will see we need to go 5-4-1, for heavens sake ?

Dawson in for the suspended Carragher, Joe Cole in to central mid-field, Gerrard in an advanced mid-field role ( replacing Heskey ) & give Rooney 60 minutes to get his act together, otherwise get Defoe on.

Personally, i think it will end 1-1 & England will once again fall way short of the mark, but we live in hope that we may yet still see just why the England 11 that take the field next wednesday actually earn over £1.1 MILLION A WEEK between them !!!!!! Smiley

I think we they can win Sunday, but only if Mickey Rooney plays better!

Agreed, we need Rooney to start playing at the top of his game.

It's a tough path to the Final now tho', If we can get past Germany we have both Argentina & Spain in our side of the draw ( if they win their respective games ), with a possible final against Brazil !!

Getting a bit ahead a myself there mind !! Let's hope we can get past our arch-enemies the Germans first & PLEASE no penalty shoot-out !! Smiley
