The Lemon Lounge does a two course meal for €5 on certain days of the week, check adverts.
I know Marielas was not to everybodys taste, but for €1 a dish we thought it was excellant value, the liver was to die for, but due to another greedy landlord thats now closed.
Alan leaves Mojacar tommorow, his Lear jet is taking him from Almeria to Geneva to bank his money!
Have you noticed how Sunday roast prices have come down, now about €5 instead of €10!
Oh for  a Wetherspons two meals and drinks for under£10!

our next MoTM meal was the Sunday carvery which was plentyfull and hot, not perfect but close and sugestions that made were taken on board and will be implimented,  give it 8/10
Last night found us there to try the Indian buffet, its such a shame that Anthony and Shirley had a bad experience last time and i suggest they give it another try, poppadoms were served with 4 different dips, choice of some 20 different hot dishes from the buffet and a choice of dessert cake, the meal was in my opinion was 1st class, not cheap, but quality rarely is, this is the end of our MoTM reports as we are now broke.

Chinese   .. M.d.Dia. E8.50
inc. Bot. Wine, and Liquer
3 Course ,and far too much .
Smashing  Service by attentive AND purty Lasses.
AND on HOT Plates.  Bit of a Rarity out here.
Imperial Palace by Name !
Argentinian, in Turre E12.50  All in Same. See Kate.
AND bring home steak for Jacques. (The Dog)
AGAIN, on HOT Plates.
A  MOST Important Ingredient to all  Meals .
(Salads Excepted of course)
Gotta be wary of some of the Pizza Joints, UNLESS you want some shoe leather , it comes as the bit they put their odd bits on, with the accent on   ODD !
I wish some one would shoot old  Al Dente,    spoils so many meals.

The trouble is with ordering Pizza in Spain it always seems to come with a thin base which is normally hard , you never seem to see any deep base Pizzas .
Steak always seems to be hit & miss , so far 75% bad - 25% good & very expensive probably because of the lack of grazing in southern Spain.
Lambs never much good either & expensive so its normally Chicken or Pork for me .

Proper Italian pizzas only have thin bases so you can enjoy the flavour of the topping more!

My favourite is the usual topping tomato paste, cheese, basil etc. finally capped with slices of Porchetta, who needs thick bases? Sadly you cannot get this many in places except Italy.

Can't disagree with Harrys comment re the Imperial Place, but not sure re the write up for The Estancia, was this a comment on the food before the new owners took over or since....see Davids write up on his website.

Incidently David I assume Huija is a place, but what is the meat?
Found Cuadril as haunches, but again what meat?
And as for Parrillada ..............HuhHuh?

Have you done a write up on Alcatifa(?) near Home Sweet home in Turre?

Pizza`s...
The  THIN Base is a must for us, but when it IS used , the cooking HAS to be `spot on`, .  Trouble with thick Bases, Can Be and usually is, that, one gets shoe leather.
My Italian Mama always said, "It is the RECIPE for the Pasta that is the secret, but we always seemed to have the same stuff for everything, I well remember turning the Handle to the Spag. Mac. Tel. Machine, and as I seem to recall, the base was always the same ,even for Cannelone, or Lasagne, UNLESS she done a swap whilst we were not looking.
BUT I do NOT ever remember any Shoe Leather . Whereas out here it is not at all uncommon, even normal in some Establishments.  More`s the pity !

Looked in vain for any clue to Midday Madness until I walked by the bowling greens, the only place I could find info, great idea we shall certainly take advantage of this offer. But Shirley not many people read this site, advertise it in many more places and you will get lots of bums on seats!!

In answer to Stingkong, our ONLY visit, was when the very nice looking place FIRST opened, without publicity, incidentally, which probably accounted for the regal splendour in which we were  isolated . This did NOT account for the very poor food, or the very very poor service.
Very sorry that Tito Paco`s in Turres seems to have been hit by present poor attendance at restaurants generally.  Their Pizza`s  (Thin Base) were well up to standard, as were the Moules Marinere .  Giving Moon Joint  a look in , be interesting, previous comments by many regarding the Elders inability to take in huge quantities of food, will probably make a Buffet VERY UNECONOMICAL, as One meal between us is plenty, happily a quite normal thing in Spain, once the U.K. Men get over the Macho bit of that, being a wee bit  `Infra Dig`... Report as and when >
