Mountains of the Moon Indian Restaurant

Just enjoyed a most wonderful Indian meal at Mountains of the Moon Indian Restaurant on the Garrucha road, the service and the food were faultless, just perfect. The whole place including the loo's were immaculate ( something sadly lacking in some local eating places ). Give yourselves a treat and give it a try, we are going back for Sunday lunch, they also do a all you can eat buffet on mondays, tuesdays and wednesdays, oh my looks like i may need next size up trousers soon. here is a link to their website.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. They had a good reputation in Arboleas and the Lomo Blanca venue is lovely. We tried their buffet and were very disappointed but will definitely try their a la carte soon.

Couldn't agree more Book 1. We also found it really good. Best Indian meal
we have had since we came here & that was five years ago. The flavours are fantastic. We also found the staff really pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going back.

So what are the prices like, I paid €9.80 for a chicken byriani in the Chilli recently which I think is way over the top, and it was very average!

Terribly expensive for a very poor buffet and bad service.
Why not try the Taj? (in Turre)

Think it deserves another chance. We ordered off the menu on thurs night.
We couldnt fault it. We have been to the Taj in Turre & to be quite honest
there is no comparison. The Chilli place doesnt come close either.

Still no idea of prices apart from the buffet which is very expensive unless you are a big big eater, and like most older people our appetite is not what it was, which is also why many on this site dont go to the BBQs to eat as €7 is a lot for two sausages and some rice (which is all we can eat at one sitting) !

You jest surely! My experience of "Old Folk" at buffets is that their piled plates weigh more than they do.

Interesting to read comments on the Restaurant, we went to it`s Opening night, the Original One. We sat in Lonely Splendour, the ONLY Customers, and had a MOST mediocre meal, with terrible service, so NEVER AGAIN !
BUT, the least one can do is "Give it a GO". SO ! we shall try it out.
It does sound a wee bit pricey, but if t`grub is up t`scratch,so be it.
Quality before Quantity, is usually the winner, at least for us.
Some of the Pizza places need a bitta help on their bases too , you NORMALLY go to a cobbler for Shoe Leather, NOT a Pizzeria. My Mama would be appalled at some of the " " Pizzas" " dished up . Cold Plates, with a Pasta Base more suited to a Cobblers last than the stomach
Incidentally, lots of pretty names with NO indication of the contents is not too helpful ?.

We were down on the playa last Thursday lunch time & 7 of us popped in the BLUE LAGOON & had fish With beer batter & Chips which were extemely nice & good value.
Then we had our puddings & 5 of us had Bread & Butter pudding & Custard of which all were returned to the kitchen , later that night the same 5 all had upset stomachs .
Also that big fat swearing bloke was in there who sat next to David in the Mountains of the Moon , but i think he was one of the staff ! .
Any ideas where we can go to eat when down on the Playa that doesnt cost a fortune & serves good tasty food ?
